{"id":207,"date":"2009-04-20T10:03:15","date_gmt":"2009-04-20T00:03:15","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/michaelwyres.com\/?p=207"},"modified":"2009-04-20T10:03:15","modified_gmt":"2009-04-20T00:03:15","slug":"social-media-grabbing-media-attention","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/michaelwyres.com.au\/mwdc\/2009\/04\/social-media-grabbing-media-attention\/","title":{"rendered":"Social Media Grabbing Media Attention"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>After a number of recent &#8220;twitter-related incidents&#8221; in the Australian arena in recent weeks &#8211; such as &#8220;Fake Stephen Conroy&#8221; (Federal Communications Minister), and the &#8220;Commonwealth Bank Loan Approval&#8221;, it seems that corporate Australia is realising the power that tools such as Twitter and Facebook can actually command.<\/p>\n<p><center>\n<table border=\"0\" width=\"80%\" cellpadding\t=\"0\" cellspacing=\"0\">\n  <tr>\n    <td class=\"linkbox\"><a class=\"linkboxtext\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/bit.ly\/5s9bC\">Commonwealth Bank All A-Twitter Over Mortgage Approval Tweet<\/td>\n  <\/tr>\n<\/table>\n<\/center>\n<\/p>\n<p>Telstra, the &#8220;corporate victim&#8221; in the &#8220;Fake Stephen Conroy&#8221; incident, are releasing a corporate policy in regards to the use of such tools by it&#8217;s employees.  Possibly fair enough.<\/p>\n<p><center>\n<table border=\"0\" width=\"80%\" cellpadding\t=\"0\" cellspacing=\"0\">\n  <tr>\n    <td class=\"linkbox\"><a class=\"linkboxtext\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/bit.ly\/HbQoA\">Telstra Staff on Notice After Twitter Gaffe<\/td>\n  <\/tr>\n<\/table>\n<\/center>\n<\/p>\n<p>But forcing employees to clearly identify themselves as Telstra employees on such sites?
