{"id":7906,"date":"2013-04-09T09:01:15","date_gmt":"2013-04-08T23:01:15","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/michaelwyres.com\/?p=7906"},"modified":"2013-04-09T09:01:15","modified_gmt":"2013-04-08T23:01:15","slug":"when-abbreviations-backfire","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/michaelwyres.com.au\/mwdc\/2013\/04\/when-abbreviations-backfire\/","title":{"rendered":"When Abbreviations Backfire"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.v8supercars.com.au\/\">V8 Supercars Championship<\/a> returns to <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Pukekohe_Park_Raceway\">Pukekohe Park Raceway<\/a> in New Zealand this weekend, with the Kiwi round having been run on the <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Hamilton_Street_Circuit\">Hamilton Street Circuit<\/a> for a number of years.<\/p>\n<p>V8 Supercars fronted a large amount of money to revamp the Pukekohe &#8211; (pronounced &#8220;Pucka-co-ee&#8221;) &#8211; circuit, affectionately known as &#8220;Puke&#8221; &#8211; (pronounced &#8220;Pucka&#8221;), and some people have <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.speedcafe.com\/2013\/04\/09\/v8-supercars-defends-6-6m-puke-investment\/\">questioned this investment<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Popular motorsport news site <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.speedcafe.com\/\">Speedcafe<\/a> often auto-abbreviates article titles in its &#8220;Related Articles&#8221; section.
