Australian Marcos Ambrose is currently making something of a name for himself in the NASCAR Busch Series. However, while he’s the first Australian to get a full time ride in any of the NASCAR series, he’s certainly not the first to have a go “stateside”.
Both Allan Grice and Dick Johnson dabbled on NASCAR front in the late 1980’s. Here’s a classic piece of footage of Dick from a Winston Cup race at Sears Point in 1989.
